Le « Belgian Owl » d’Etienne Bouillon est pour la seconde fois en 4 ans proclamé « meilleur whisky européen ».

Le titre de meilleur « European whisky » a été décerné à deux flacons : « Chapter 14 Not Peated » produit dans le Norfolk par l’English Whisky Company (distillerie Saint George) et, cocorico, à « Owl Single Malt ‘64 Months » produit à Grâce-Hollogne ! « Nous avions déjà été couronnés en 2011 et maintenant en 2015, déclare avec enthousiasme le distillateur Etienne Bouillon. C’est une reconnaissance internationale fantastique, c’est très enthousiasmant pour le futur ».

Seules 200 à 300 bouteilles de ce whisky âgé de 64 mois ont été commercialisées et elles sont évidemment déjà toutes vendues : « Je n’en ai même plus une pour moi », déplore Bouillon. Par ailleurs, « le but pour nous, conclut-il, est de rechercher la plus grande excellence, nous y arrivons grâce aux agriculteurs locaux avec lesquels nous sommes en commerce équitable. Nous avons la chance d’avoir la distillerie en plein milieu des champs, on peut quasiment parler d’un whisky de terroir ». Plus d’infos sur www.belgianwhisky.com.
